How is water not spilled? Different mechanism for attaching the pump line?

Yes!  It's pressured with a spring and not really but a drop or 2 come out when taking the pump off when full or attaching to empty.  I had to get the sumo pump since I couldn't find any parts to fit my Tsunami pump.  Well worth the investment for me.

I just got a set of the new Ronix eight.3 1100's and pump. To me it seemed like a no brainer considering it pumps 3700gph vs 1200gph for the tsunami. I'd much rather be surfing than spending all that extra time waiting. I guess we'll see how they work soon!

I usually spend all day at the lake, a few minutes to drink my beer while the bags fill is no biggie. Plus then what would I bitch about if I didn't have to wait?

That's how I used to feel, then I found plenty of other stuff to complain about...

I just got the RONIX Sacks with 3800 GPM pump - These are one of the best innovations in a decade. They are awesome. Fast, check valves, trapezoid shape, very little water splashing,etc...

How fast is the pump in real world usage? The promo video shows the 400lbs bag filled up under 2min so that means an 1100lbs should be just around 6min. That's pretty damn fast if it's as good as advertised.

Demo - Insanely fast. I did a little "test" I filled my 400LB sack in the time the rider grabbed his rope, jacket and board to the back of the boat. He had not even put on board or tied on the rope. It's fast. It's drains faster. Just make sure to leave the velcro panel close upon filling. First day I opened it and filled it up past the zipper - dummy me! It's faster than the ballast tanks for sure. I see lots of the surf guys are using it over their built in ballast or removing their bags and converting.

Oh and FYI the o-ring size for sumo sacs is 25mm x 31mm x 3mm....took several trips to ace hardware to figure out the pump made over seas has a metric sized o-ring.

How in the hell was I in this thread and missed the O ring size.  So many damn trips to Lowe's and it's still spraying water out.  LOL, next trip I should be solid ;)

I have two 1100s Eight.3's in my corners and I can fill them both up in about 10 minutes. Draining takes about the same time.

I downgraded from the 3700 gallon to the 3000 because the fuse kept popping. I would also suggest to keep the engine running while filling these up so you don't drain the battery.

Another good tip is to tie a rope to your pump when you throw it overboard because that pump is heavy and could end up at the bottom of the lake in no time.
