The Donfather
I was told never pull a tube from the tower. I have not pulled a tube from my MB yet
allzway
We haven't had the change to pull a tube yet, but on our old boat we had a hook on the back of the boat and pulled two identical tubes with the exact same size rope a few different times. I also wouldn't pull a tube from the tower. I am curious to see if others have pulled two tubes from the pylon.

demo9asx
I'm guilty as charged as well. Do it from the pylon
MidnightMax
Never pull tubes from the tower. have been know to pull 2 tubes from the pylon or 4 wakeboarders lunchbox, dobber, Aquaddiction and 2 others
SkySki
You can do what you want, but I would suggest looking to see which will make stress marks over time and which won't. Look at where the ski pylon is attached (stringers) then look at where the tower is mounted. If you want stress cracks eventually, go with the tower. The weight being exerted against the rope is huge, that is why the rope for a tube is huge compared to wakeboard ropes. That force will be put to the boat at some point. Up to you on where you want it to go.
pickle
I always pulled a tube from the pylon on my malibu no probs. I seem to remember reading somewhere that it is recommended to pull tubes from a harness hooked to the transom tie down points, those points for sure will take the punishment: such as http://www.jmsonline.net/tow-harness-8-rope-demon.htm?gclid=CLKRhOrx-b0CFSsQ7AodtCkAQw

So now I just hook to the pylon.

grantschim
I use the pylon for all of our tubing competitions as well as for the tubing practices ;-). I would put that much strain on the tower.
somepeteguy
The Intercontinental Delegation Of Tubing Specialists (IDIOTS) rules preclude the tube lines from being attached higher than 36" from the water line while underway. This rule was introduced for athlete safety following the incident at the World Championships in 1956 when the Polish National team used duct tape and soft steel lag bolts to attach a swing set to the top of their trawler. dobber
Ever have it when a tube flips or gets full of water. You can feel the drag of the tubes. If you had them hooked up to the tower and then turned the boat dragging the tubes you could have a holy crap moment.
clovenburg
Only pull tubes from pylon. Too much stress on tower, even for one tube.
lunchbox
NEVER EVER pull a tube from the tower!!!!! Several manufactures will tell you from the git go that they won't warranty any problems created by pulling a tube from the tower. Have used a big tube from the pylon with no issues. That is also what MB recommended.

Just last week a member of IDIOTS was going back and forth in my wake with a tube trying to use my wake for his own tubing needs. He was getting WAY too close for my comfort because if my rider was to fall, he would run right over them. I kept waving him off but he didn't get it so I took off to another part of the lake. SkySki
Just wait till you see him sitting and floating and do a big ol power uturn around him.. Full ballast of course I literally did this once. This guy was driving around three boats - mine included - towing a tube from a bayliner. Once he stopped, I drove straight at him, did two complete loops around him with full ballast. I stopped and asked him if he liked it when I drove around him. We got into a yelling contest for a few minutes - his wife was the one yelling the most. Needless to say, my wife was pissed because of my overreaction to the problem. I was an ass and could have handled it better. Next time I will try and set a good example for my kids, not a psychotic example. People are stupid and I made the assumption that they were doing it on purpose, then flew off the handle.

Someone who is dumb/negligent/clueless/intoxicated enough to put his (and it's 99% of the time a him) and your family's safety at risk probably isn't just going to say "oh dude, my bad, you are totally right." volfo
I have pulled up to 3 flat tubes from the pylon. Routinely do two. kids have much more fun with 2 tubes, ropes same length, as they can jump from one to the other, etc. Also when you turn they sling into one another. Have to a little careful with age and ability and very careful with how hard you swing. Two heads colliding is not something you want and is possible in this scenario. Never tow from the tower, and never tow with speed control on, because when you turn, the boat accelerates too much and really whips the tubes around way too fast. I find myself constantly adjusting the speed if they want to whip back and forth. Final rule, only do this for limited times either when absolutely nobody is around or out in the busiest part of the lake where the water is bad anyway! We always save the tubing for the middle of the day and always be respectful of people trying to use the water for other purposes, realizing one stupid tuber can ruin the water for everyone else real quick!
