Kalamazoo
hyperlite broadcast. got every first time rider up within 5 pulls. ropeless within 10. rides like a 1980 lincoln continental, but tons of fun particularly for the newbies. MidnightMax
^^^ agree.. Broadcast or Liquid force fish are the gold standard for beginner boards
cbudweiserc
I agree, I've got both of those, they're fun. We're ready for a badass board though, prolly be a spring purchase next year.

22mini20
I went ahead and got the hyperlite shim. hopefully it is a good board! I went there to get the broadcast and they talked me into this one.... they said the broadcast is there top seller due to price point but the shim was a better board and will allow me to do more than just learn to ride. we will see, also sold me a rope with no handle. Not sure if im gonna like that? what are your Inputs on that.?
SkySki
Is it the T-handle rope? Usually green and black? I had that one to start - it came apart pretty quickly. I can't help you with the board.

It isnot a T handle it is the same as this one http://www.bartswatersports.com/catalog/Wake_Surfing_Ropes/Proline_Super_D_Surf_Rope/index.asp#.U_4zsO29LCQ
MidnightMax
I actually prefer the T handle or no handle like the rope you got over a triangle handle. I have got tangled up in those handles a couple times doing hand pass 360's. They are a bit harder to use for newbies but once you get used to them they are much safer IMHO
22mini20
Perfect how about for girls to use do you have to have a lot of grip power to get up?
MidnightMax
Grip certainly helps especially for beginners. I personally like the T handle as it provides good grip without the danger of getting tangled up WakeDirt
