we've seen many posts about DIY surfgate, LED, ballast and other useful popular mods.  I think it could be a good thread to share some of the 'smaller' and useful things we do with our boats...I'll go first!

How many boats do I have to break before I get a good one?

1/2" pvc pipe & tees

3/4" foam pipe insulation

holds 3 surf and 2 wake at highway speeds safely...obviously could add more surf

2 vertical 'combs' that can be stowed behind drivers seat during boat use.

maybe $20

That's slick! I think one of these is in order for my boat. I'm sick of wrapping the ends of boards with towels and life jackets to keep the interior from getting scratched. Nice job!

Bought two of these...they are fastened to the locker openings and hang down about 1/3.  you can put towels, jackets, vests on them no problem.  nice part is the 750's below can be full and you can still reasonable store stuff w/o having to screw around when filling/emptying.71aC2yHZCGL._SL1500_.jpg

ha, kalamazoo, I built a similar frame for my alpine snowboards that goes inside my cargo box for my car.  Never considered it for the boat.  My problem is that we always have more than two wakeboards.

How about a USB charging outlet in the glovebox?  This one wasn't available when I did mine, but it's what I'd use now.  http://www.amazon.co...t/dp/B0082CXEI8

Or how about an anderson connector on the battery so you can hook it to a batter charger without opening the battery box (for those of us who are still ghetto enough to not have an onboard charger)?  It's the little red piece:

Or a 12v receptacle in front of the windshield:

This one is by far my favorite mod of 2014 tho:

I went a different route when I added 12v outlets. I was tired of the traditional cigarette lighter type pulling out as one of the bimbos or meatheads moved around while I filled the tubes and the fatsacs.

I used locking Neutrik connecters. Two in the rear and one up front under the cushion.

Pete I used the neutrik too for my tube pump.  Definitely a good suggestion that I've copied.

I added a 12 in each rear compartment, Still need to add one up front. I just tapped into factory one and split off. Do you think I can run 2 pumps at once. Or better yet just get off my ass and drill some holes and plumb my bags in. Oh wait I want to add more stero stuff first.

Aka " DonSeas"

Don plumb in the bags before doing more stereo.  Way more upside per $$$ still on the table there.

I really like some of the ideas.  I want to add power ports for sure.

Do you have a link?  That is by far the best on this thread!  I always rock the windshield open and have a DIY way to hold it open.  I need this!

Never mind found it...

How does that work with your cover?  I see it's mounted to the outside of the frame, no way that will work with my cover.  Maybe mount it on the bottom side and not the top?
