My MB dealer told me that you need minimum 18 feet of water to make good waves and to be at least 11.1 mph

For wakeboarding it all depends on the skill of the rider. No matter the skill run the CAV plate all the way up. For beginners run no ballast at about 17 MPH. For novice riders run 30-40% ballast at about 21 MPH. For intermediate run 50-60% ballast at 22-23 MPH. If you run full ballast its 23 MPH but the wake is big. Check the wake and see how clean it is at the rope length. I run 50% ballast at 23 MPH with the rope at 75ft.  Do you like the 2079 and what elevation are you at. Im running the 2075.
