jbwellsjr Posted October 4, 2016 Report Share Posted October 4, 2016 Anyone know what the skinny metal tube just after the seacock and strainer is? Runs sea water to/from transmission. Trying to winterize and don't have a fake a lake. Couldn't get hose off seacock or strainer but I was able to disconnect hose on inlet side of this tube. I want to connect a tube to this inlet and run to a 5 gallon bucket full of anti-freeze. If you think adding AF this way is a bad idea please let me know. I know you can simply dump AF through somewhere but not sure what connection to just dump it through. Also the bottom of the strainer is pointing up. I've seen several videos on other boats and the bottom is pointing down. Is inverted ok? Bought used so not sure what original stop looked like. It's an 05 B52 so limited info. On PCM manual. oldsmobiledriver Posted October 4, 2016 Report Share Posted October 4, 2016 I've added coolant to mine this way a few times and didn't have any freezing issues. It is best to have the engine at operating temp before sucking in the coolant so that the thermostat is open allowing coolant to reach all areas of the intake and upper exhaust areas.
