How much lead is enough vs too much? I just acquired about 400 lbs of it, with the option on about 400 more.

I still need you if you gurus to come slap the 24 for me here in Arkansas...just saying I’ll pay for the stuff and getting you here and putting you up .....

I run/ran around 400 lbs in the bow of my B52.

so...no expert here but at some point that fact that lead isn't neutral buoyant would be concerning for me for those who load heavy for surf. jussayin.


How many boats do I have to break before I get a good one?

If you tow back/forth to the water, consider the extra weight and how its placed in the boat as well. I run 150# of lead that is easy to move around the boat to balance things / fine tune.

800. Plan 400 in bow and the other 400 to expirement with. Already had it from last boat.
