I have a pair of like new XM9s for sale. They do NOT come with the male mounting post or clamps for tubular towers. Never towed or stored with speakers on tower, always kept in covers in the boat.

Asking $850 shipped to lower 48 only.

What would I need to implement these into my existing 2016 stock exile system?

New amp, battery, mounts and wiring?

Also, you said you've never towed with them on, was there some kind of quick release?

I can't speak for the wiring on the tubular towers but on the 17 tower the wiring is there ready to use. Your current amp should be capable of driving 2 additional speakers tho. They are a quick release system and the bases are available from Exile for the tubular towers.

The XM9s have the horn tweeter for more distance projection. I can't say for sure but I think the amp is the same for 2 or 4 speakers when ordering from MB. Maybe someone in the know can chime in on that. My expertise is def mechanical not electronical lol.

2016 tower is pre wired for a second set of tower speakers and wires run behind the amp. Easy connection to existing amp. Exile sells the tower mounts for about 150. They are good for either wakeboard or surf, but designed to project further, so more so considered wakeboard. They are quick release.

This is awesome to know!  I figured that adding tower speakers would mean wiring in an additional amp, running wires through the tower, etc..  Seems like a lot for the single factory amp to push - sub, 6 in-boats, and 2 tower speakers.  Do the towers run off the same set of channels as the bow speakers?

@orangeTJ,

If your boat does not currently have the factory tower speaker option, you would likely need an amp dedicated to the tower speakers. Regardless of year, the OEM in-boat/woofer amp will not do well trying to add tower speakers to it.

OK that makes sense.  Re-reading the post I quoted, it looks like he was talking about a second set of tower speakers.  I didn't order mine with tower speakers and have been fine without them, but if it was just going to be a matter of buying speakers and hooking to existing wires I could get behind it. For what $s it would add up to to install a second amp on top of purchasing the speakers, I'll pass for now!
