Installed a wake plate this weekend. The difference that it makes when getting on plane is unbelievable! Total cost for parts was about $350, and it took me about 2 hours to install.

The parts list is pretty short, and I ordered it all from Boaters Marine Supply:

Lenco 12"x18" Edgemount Plate
Lenco Lower Actuator Mount
Lenco Upper Actuator Mount (w/ gland seal)
Lenco Standard Electric Actuator (2.25" travel)
Carling Rocker Switch
Lenco 20' Wire Extension

The tough part was actually modifying the plate to fit over the bilge drain fitting. Other than that, the install was a breeze.

I have 1600 lbs of ballast with 1400 lbs of additional ballast. The wake is MASSIVE, I have no problem getting on plane. Worth every penny and then some.

Nice Stuff man, So I would prolly Go with the 9" wide becasue of my DIY FAE system. Did the plate come with hardware to mount? If not what did you have to buy? and did u run the chord through the upper mount or lower mount? (And my stupid questions..yours is 12 X 18, is it 12 long by 18 wide?)

FAE system?

My plate is 12" long and 18" wide. The mounting hardware didn't come with the plate or brackets. The wire fits through the upper mount, hence the gland seal. All you need are #14 SS screws to mount the plate and upper bracket. You can get those from Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. To mount the lower bracket to the plate you will need some 1/4" SS bolts and lock nuts, also found at any hardware store.

Alsoo...has anyone every heard of adding dual tabs...one on each side? I surf Port, and was wondering if you had a Port tab all the way up, and the starboard deployed...would it give the boat proper list towards the Port side?
-I have seen some tabs that arent adjustable...http://www.nauticusinc.com/smart_tabsSX.htm. Would these work, have it up while not surfing...and down while crusing....

Anyone heard anything from jwweathers on pics or how its working out??? I have also been considering doing the two plates (one on each side) for surfing purposes. There are a couple of Mastercrafts at my dealer with three plates!!!

Looks like three is the way I am going. Should be sick, I still need to figure out how to wire the center one to the factory gauge and then get some other type of guage for the outside ones.

I have not started the parts list but it will be the same as above but with more narrow plates on the outside like a 6-8"
