I agree that I rarely use it when on the water however, I always use it when trailering. It will help keep things inside the boat when traveling. I have used it also when we had a freak storm come up and we needed to get back somewhat quickly in rough water.

PCM ZR-6 dies after 35 minutes , CONSISTANTLY
Tgteeter replied to ViroGiro's topic in Maintenance & Technical Discussion
I had this exact issue on an old truck. It was a small magnetic piece in the distributor and when it would heat up it would expand and the motor would just die like the key was switched off. Once it cooled down it fired right back up. This sounds very similar. -
How deep do you sink a Metalcraft trailer??
Tgteeter replied to Guppydriver's topic in General Discussion
I concur with the front of your fenders being submerged a couple of inches. Even at that I am on the bunks a good 4 feet away from being fully on the trailer. I then kill the engine and winch it the rest of the way to protect my prop. -
Code for me!!! Thanks

towing with the cover should you or shouldn't you?
Tgteeter replied to sendtobrit's topic in Boat Discussion
I am with midnight on this one. I tow long distances with my cover on. I take microfiber towels and put them under the cleats and where the cover fits over the tower. This keeps the hard rubber off the boat which is where I was seeing the scuff marks. I sinch it down real tight. No scuff marks for three years. Fwiw - I tow without the cover to my local lake which is about 25 min away max speed 65mph. I almost lost my bow filler cushion last time. I put it behind the wind screen now. -
I can run about 37 mph with the 2079.

I have the exact same setup. 4 exile surf sxt9q speakers. I am incomplete agreement with Mucker's assessment. The horns are just too harsh for my taste. Don't get me wrong the sxt9's are loud but they are much warmer sounding. We are 80% surf and they are great at that distance. At Wake boarding distance you can still hear them but not as well as a horn.

June would be better. Kids out of school/sports would be awesome. -

Soundproofing the Engine Compartment

Good idea! 30% reduction is impressive. Did you watch your engine temp, any difference? You put ropes and bumpers in your warming tray? -
Couldn't agree more!

Are the locker areas still carpeted or do they have Gator Step as well?

So it sounds as if you are listing your boat even though it has GSA tabs (I assume factory installed). Why is that? Do you not like the wave that the GSA puts out? Just curious.

new member-wanted opinions on 2014 f22 vs 2016 f22...?
Tgteeter replied to freeheeler88's topic in Boat Discussion
Do you already have a drop hitch? I rarely drag mine but I had to got a 4 inch drop hitch. Depends on how tall your tow vehicle is as well. -
A lot of guys, including myself have installed a powered trim plate. Not only does the trim plate help you plane it is also essential in wave shaping/prop spray on a listed wave. There are pleanty of write ups on the forum of guys installing the trim plate. As for weight up front, I get about 400 lbs in a bow integrated sack and usually have four kids or so up there while surfing. If you are getting up to 13 mph with no bow weight you should be fine if you add some bow weight.
