  1. The ecoboost moisture problem is an easy $300 fix with catch cans. I towed my 23' B52 from LR to Branson, MO this weekend (very hilly) and got 10.4 MPG average. I'd happily challenge any gas burner truck out there to a tow off going up hills. There are a lot of nice trucks out there and with today's technology I don't think having a boat is a soul justification for paying the extra cash for a diesel. Timmay has a 14 Silverado that tows his B52 just fine and still gets good gas mileage.
  2. I overheard a number that he was going to "list" it at and it's in that range.
  3. I was just down at the dealer I bought my boat from, S&G extreme marine, and they have 3 leftover '14 models that they have got to get rid of. They are taking a beating on them and going to let them go for a pretty silly price. If anyone is around the area and interested check it out. The purple and white boat looks killer in person! http://www.xtrememarineinc.com/inventory/new
  4. Got married this weekend on Greers Ferry lake on a cliff in a cove. It turned out awesome, had all our friends out there, tons of boats, more than enough food and tasty drinks. Had 3 MB's there looking good too. The weather foiled some plans so we had to re-arrange at the last minute but we got it done. My super awesome wife bought me a 600lb bow and 1100lb locker Ronix telescopic bags with the monster 3700GPH pump. Can't wait to get those going. Just wanted to share my fun weekend and a few pictures. wedding3.htm wedding4.htm wedding6.htm
  5. I love watching is videos on FB, that dude is pretty sick. I'm quite jealous as well!
  6. I have never been on a 21' B52 so this opinion is strickly based of the B52, but stock ballast with just two people will make a wave that is surfable however, I think it will be more difficult as the push won't be as strong. I'm gong to add bags to my 23' so I would assume that you will, at some point in time, want to add some as well. Make no mistake about it, these boats are pretty good for wakes and waves with stock ballast. Hope your Demo goes well.
  7. Is this comparing to 2070 prop? Olds, that's a good point, I can't remember if the issue is on the same side, if it is, I guess I'm going to be chasing wires this weekend.
  8. First run this season was a success, boat ran like a champ. She fired up in the driveway first crank. We discovered that just two of us lil guys and stock ballast is not enough for good surfing but we did get some decent test passes with the new soulcraft. It's finally here and I'm as stoked as can be!
  9. Josh you should do a 2315 review after you ride with it, I'm running a 2070 right now which I like but I hate that I lost top end, wondering if the slightly bigger prop will be provide a little more top end but same low end like the 2070
  10. I like to try to at least do a little trouble shooting before I take it in, plus Rick and them are backed up for weeks, I'm not going to put my boat down for the lights, I'll just wait til winter if I can't figure it out myself.
  11. Great thread and good to see a lot of us are doing our own mx. Don't see that a lot these days. I have a pump that hooks up to my drill gun for fluid changes. It can get messy sometimes and a pain to hold on to, I might try a new pump later this year. On a side note, has anyone had problems with the ballast switch light just staying on? My left tank switch stays illuminated all the time but the valve works fine. I checked the connections at the valve and all look good. Also my right surf light won't come on anymore...not even sure where to start on that one.
  12. Sweet thanks Greeko, I'll start with the lil guys and the main fins and see how it feels. If I don't like it I'll just throw it in the trash.
  13. That's what I figured, pretty much everyone I see has the fins in the most outboard slots. I'll give it a whirl and try some different setups. Are the little mini me fins even necessary?
  14. Saturday I'm going to give my new board a try. I haven't been able to ride anything at this level yet so I have a few questions on set up. I can ride ropeless and got a few 360's last year on a Hyperlite broadcast board but couldn't keep up with the wave. So right now I just threw on all 3 sets of fins and figured I'd try it out and go from there. But I still wanted to see what everyone's opinions are on fin set up. My ultimate goal for this year is to learn how to get a little air off the lip and ride out these 360's. Currently we are just running surf side full ballast and a few people in the boat and in the nose. Wave is pretty decent so I should be able to get after some of these goals. Any insight would help. Thanks.
  15. He was moving the boat into the shop, couldn't back it up cause he didn't have the little key to lock the brake disengaged, so he pulled it out to turn it around and the cover wasn't secured on the boat...adios.
  16. Yea, we're going to fire it up in the driveway to check for leaks with the plunger adapter. We'll be sure to remember to put the plug in.
  17. Went through the green, and no pic....I don't need a reminder, lol
  18. That is a good thought, but it's tucked away in storage now, I'll just pull it out in the mornings when we go and put her back until I get the new one.
  19. I pulled my boat out at the end of March to get some stuff going. I bought a new amp to run my towers, an onboard battery charger and I wanted to get my keel guard going. The amp proved to be a royal pain in the ass but finally got it done and rewired all the boat speakers so every speaker has it's own channel. Then my dumbass decided to mount my battery charger on the outboard wall by the batteries....when I went to mount it, I accidently grabbed a longer screw that was meant for the amp and it went through the hull. IDIOT! This has been the source of my depression since it happened. Remounted it, good to go. Got it all cleaned up and sent to get the keel guard done and repair the hole. The hole repair isn't the absolute greatest but it's sealed and paint matched, but you can tell it's there. Nothing they coulda done short of repainting the whole damn side of the boat. The keel guard looks awesome and I think it's going to work for exactly what I wanted it for. Finally, the cover got destroyed on accident by my buddy. Most of you know these woes already. But in the end, she's finally ready to hit the water, maiden voyage for 2015 on Saturday and I hope that is just what I need to get over all this frustration!
  20. Smokin, no, it can't be repaired, and even if it could I wouldn't because it's already becoming a piece of junk. I took it back to my storage unit this morning and 2 hours later it down poured. So I got lucky there. I'm just not a fan of paying the $115 for storage during the summer but I may have to take my medicine and just keep it in there. I emailed Cory at Evo and he said he doesn't have a template for my boat . I talked to a local shop today and quoted me $1k-1500 for sunbrella, again with a huge wait. So I have two options the way I see it, 1.) order the stock cover and deal with it or B.) keep the storage unit for the summer and have someone get started on this cover. I'd rather have Cory do it. I've been pouting around all week about this and the woman sent me a text tonight with a pic of her parents detached garage that got blown over in some nasty winds, puts things in perspective. Third world problems I suffer from.
  21. What all did he say about cost and timeline to make? I'm literally up shit creek without a cover right now. My only option right now is to try to get a stock cover for $910. If this evolution cover is $1000 I'll just go that route.
  22. So I got my new cover in and it isn't wide enough. I looked on the boatcoversdirect.com and they have the '14 listed as a B-52 23' with 2 point tower. That's what I ordered, but tonight when I went to look again they have a '13 listed as B-52 23' wide body with 2 point tower. My bet is they got this confused and somehow made the '14 not as wide? Were there differences in widths around these years?
  23. Wow, that's wild. That would take an extreme amount of pressure I would think unless that was a bad weld or bad material. I'll be interested to see what MB/dealers say and how they handle that. Unless you were towing a jumping castle with 8 kids I would think they would warranty that no questions.
  24. Not sure how I feel about putting my Soulcraft board in the racks this year. I bought a surf bag for it though, do you guys through your good boards in the racks or leave them in a bag or in the boat?
