  1. Hi sorry about the late reply. From memory I think the baffles had ripped fibreglass when they broke so I would imagine it is the same with yours. We had to fix ours by cutting two access holes and having a fibreglasser repair it.
  2. Hmm, ive seen mission deltas shaper is pretty close to 90° I might try making it a little smaller and put some holes in it so it has less drag.
  3. Just made a new suction cup wake gate, costed less than $30 and took about an hour to make (most of it was spent cutting the acrylic). It seems easier enough to use just hoping it will work. The actual gate is about 90° to the boat so I feel like the slapper should be a bit smaller after seeing other types of suction gates. Will post results when I get time to use it (It’s Winter here)
  4. I know this is an old thread but does anyone else have trouble cleaning up the regular wave. We usually have a nice wave goofy side with the boat evenly weighted but need a massive list to clean up regular.
  5. Yeah can confirm no one drinks Fosters.
  6. So we have a homemade wake gate which works really well for the goofy side but we still can't clean up the natural wave. Even when we ballast the boat full surf side we still wash over on the natural side. We had a 550 in each locker and about 350 in the nose, stock 900 full surfside and surf gate. This is the goofy wave with the a 550 in each locker, 350 in the nose, stock surf side full, 85% non-surf side + surf gate. Sorry about the photo but you can see its much bigger and cleaner.
  7. Yeah we had internal baffles knocked over and several cracks in our left tank of our 2010 b52. We had access holes cut above them and we had to find the cracks and glass them. A good way of working out whether its the tanks or a leak elsewhere is taking your boat to the lake for an hour or two, do a bit of driving and stopping like normal without filling the ballast. Then pull the boat out and remove the drain plug. Take note of how much water drains from the hull. Then repeat with ballast filled. We noticed that the tanks only had two layers of fibreglass which is quite thin and The baffles were glued onto the fibreglass with some sort of liquid nails. Pretty ordinary build quality in my opinion.
  8. Alright buddy, I might try swapping the switches around, probably won't buy a gate yet as it still works perfectly, just thought I would see what options I have and what I could check. Last gate wasn't cheap by the time I had it shipped to australia so hopefully its a simple fix.
  9. Yeah the gate works fine, just the light stays on all the time, so it wouldn't be just an easy fix?
  10. Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows any common causes for a ballast gate switch light to stay on?
  11. Had decent height and length out of our b52 with about 250 pounds in the front, stock surf side full and a diy surfgate. Maybe try adding more bow ballast? May lose a bit of height in the wave though
  12. Alright cool might try putting a sac into the surf side. We were running about 150kg in the front, surf side full factory, gate installed, plus 4 people on the boat. Wave had some nice length to it, I was able to ride it pretty far back.
  13. The picture doesn't do it justice, although we were getting a nice curl out of it further down the wave. We are new to surfing and still getting used to our boat. What setup do you usually run may I ask?
  14. Nope no cav plate and I think its about 10 metres deep
