  1. Ok, I get it now .... Still wake surfing ... MB style ... with a tige in tow. Yep ... I guess that's why my caption says "newbie" .. I've enjoyed reading through many of the forum topics ... missed that totally ... you guys got me TX !! Have a great weekend
  2. Wow, seems I really underestimated the purpose of this forum as a platform, specifically designed for MB owners ie. those whom own Mike Brendella Boats vs. fabricating another social media outlet for individuals like you with "snarky, rude, useless" comments. Between you and the other member over 3500 entries ... whose the "fanboy" ... "check your spelling". Nothing good to say, can't help-then don't talk. I am certainly thankful for the courtesy of the individual that helped me out with my question ...
  3. No doubt construction has changed to stay competitive in all brands, our MB has done a great job for us (by the way, I gave input to the question) the dealer we purchased from has long gone out of business, therefore, if I or any friends need something, we deal with the factory in Atwater, which has worked out just fine. Check out an MB tri-color brochure for more product info and history of the company. Best of luck to you and any constructive input you might have for whomever asked the question, I'm sure they'll appreciate it ..... peace
  4. Honestly, where we do most of our boating you'll find Malibu's and MB's, it's California !!! I was mixed between Malibu, Sanger and MB. As far as I know Tige still uses wood in the hull and has an issue with water coming over the bow due to design and lots of plastic. Hands down MB has figured out how to give wakeboarders an awesome wave and boat loaded with features, not to mention the quality in the hull's design, colors, upolstery and fabrication. Do your homework ... Tige ??? Malibu ... $$ Name and MB Sport - Built by a guy whose been in the business for a long long time ... plus .. built by wakeboard pros and gives the beginner and the family an incredible plateform to play on. Been boating a long time "California Style" bought new in 07, my MB B52V is by far the best boat I've ever owned and waterskied, airchaired, wakesurfed, tubed and occasionally wakeboard behind. Best of luck on your descision,
  5. That's a lot of weight, suggest less ballast and move your passengers to the side being surfed. There's a serious risk of sinking or swamping your boat if that wake comes over the back when stopping or the bow when turning around. MB's make a serious wake regardless, good luck ...
  6. We bought our MB Sport B52V 22 foot, brand new in 2007, using the same factory prop it came with, a 13.5 x 16 4-blade Acme Brass Prop, the engine is a PCM Excalibur 330 HP V8, we have the perfect pass system and have around 250 hours of run time on it now and use Amsoil Marine 100% synthetic motor oil. Overall performance is outstanding and has never lacked power or throttle control, we also started the wake surf ride using the rope mount on the tower. Once you figure out how to safely load the ballast and position your passengers so that one side of the back of the boat sits lower than the other, you'll have an awesome B52 wake ride. Safety Tip: Heads up to the size of the wake when stopping or turning around to pick-up your rider ... don't want to swamp your boat !!!!
  7. We have an '07 B52 V which has ballast on both sides (# 900 capacity each), no bow ballast. Filled right side to half, left side remained empty and had a couple 200 pound riders sit on the right side as well. Wake surf rider went about # 225 riding a 60" board, said that the form and size of our wake was incredible compared to his Malibu with a wake plate and rear ballast. The MB boat hull is designed to roll a wake lip that has a perfect shape on both sides for big "wakeboard" air. This case pushing the right rear down at 12 mph built a wake that was about 4 foot tall with a perfect roll and sweet spot, allowing the rider to ride free of the tow rope. He was never able to ride rope free and have that much fun behind his Malibu wake boat. Hope that helps !!
  8. Thank you, I will check out that website and give them a call.
  9. Looking for ideas on different styles of tower mounts for a wake surfer board on a 2007 B-52 V 21
