  1. I just picked up a 17 b52, since its end of season I was only able to put a few hours on it. I can't vouch for the waves because my wave making skills are not good., but I can say I looked at a few different brands in the same or less price range( Malibu was way too much for me) and the quality of the boat and feel was a lot better in the MB, which Is what made my decision.
  2. I did not. But I heard the same thing. also the wedge is now power. Im not really experienced but I like the cav plate on the MB its nice to use to power through the waves. I don't know if the wedge acts the same but to just add drag to the boat. As well as I believe the manual wedge was only one position, maybe it changed with the power set up.
  3. I looked at the axis before i bought the 17 b52. while the surf system seemed nicer the interior was a huge downgrade compared to the mb. The axis hinges and linkages on all the compartments were very cheap feeling. I could see 8 years down the line of this thing falling apart also the manual dump valves are a nice feature you don't get on axis
  4. I just don't like the idea of the plug coming in and out that much. I can't tell you how many fords I have retapped the cylinder heads due to spark plug issues( granted it was a different engine)
  5. you may not get 13+ mpg like the "big boys" but plenty of power and keep it at 70 and you may get 10mpg
  6. perfect thanks that clears it up for me. I feel good about it
  7. Damn brotha, we have the same color boat! Love it Do you know the color name you have? I wanna say I have the toffee but idk
  8. you can test the trigger to the coil really easy with a test light. assuming your one coil has 2 wires,(not counting the secondary wire that goes to the cap) one should have battery voltage when key on and the other should have a pulsing ground from the ignition module or distributor. with the test light connected to a good ground(verify by touching the positive battery cable) probe one wire to make sure it has battery voltage. If it does then your other wire will be for the trigger. now attach your test light to the positive terminal on the battery( verify connection by now touching a good ground) probe the other wire while cranking the engine. If the test light flickers then the coil should be firing. Now since you have replaced the coil and assuming it is not defected out of the box, and the light is flickering, then you need to check your secondary wire to the cap, as well as the cap and rotor, maybe it got wet? If it is not flicking then your need to check your pick up coil or ignition module, which I would need to see a pic or know what kind of distributor it is. I was an auto mechanic but I am new to the boat world. but should be the same concept.
  9. Does this stuff fade? I have a 2017 b52 with the light brownish color. I noticed its a lot lighter then some of the 2015-2016 models for they have a darker tint to it. I want to get the arm rest piece but I don't want it to look darker then what I have
  10. may i ask where you purchased? I am interested but i have the b52
  11. My MB dealer told me that you need minimum 18 feet of water to make good waves and to be at least 11.1 mph
  12. There is a few dudes down south from me that just put alittle space heater inside the engine compartment and that's it. Seems risky if that unit stopped working
  13. What kind of ignition coil system? individual for each cylinder? or one coil to supply secondary to the cap?
  14. Is fogging the engine Really important? I am new to the boat seen as well and just picked up a 2017 b52. After your post I went ahead and downloaded the raptor manual( good material I agree). I am mechanically inclined but have never fogged an engine before. I live in Utah where It may get to 0 degrees but usually around 20-30 at the coldest points
  15. antelope marina is a good place to start. you can head out to the first canyon" Navajo" I think its called. there is a popular large sandy beach about 40 min( house boat time) to travel, not bad at all. It will easily fit 7 plus house boats and it is inclined for home made slides and things. as well as all sand which is nice.
  16. I agree 45 min with no oil pressure is just highly unlikely, especially with no signs(noises, vibrations etc. ) I just bought an MB and the rep told me the bilge pump turns on automatically any way? so if that failed wouldn't that be cause for warranty due to other components failing? I mean you can't really say negligence because you can't be expected to look down there every 5 min to check if its working right?
