Moving to our 5th MB -- so our 2019 is for sale. Excellent condition and those that have been in a 575 boat or own one, know its on another level!

Yep, if you get the combination of mode + up/down just right, you can see all kinds of cool stuff on the Livorsi gauges.  Most interesting to me is the % load  and the instand fuel burn rate in GPH. Very useful for figuring out how a prop is performing, the difference in fuel burn between cruising and surfing, etc. Too bad it always seems to take me half the season to figure out the right combination of ups and downs to get back there! I swear, the next time I get it right I am writing it down!

I tow with the cover(s) - either tower down or up cover (yes, I have both) 95% of the time and have done so with all my previous MBs. Never a problem and I would challenge you to find a mark made by the cover. The key is to ratchet it on super tight,,,, I mean you can't hardly get another click

The 575 is a great motor and has served us well at 5000 FT. The 450 motor that is in the G23 is a beast though and we could have saved a few $$$ over the 575 and some $$ on gas as well if MB had a comparable engine to offer.
If I had one wish though - I'd go with 17" prop and 2:1 tranny. Would make all motors a ton more efficient!

Personally I'd love to see a few things that frankly don't cost a ton before a new model is introduced:

    1. 17" prop and 2:1 tranny
    2. add back the 460 Raptor or switch to another mfg
    3. Better insulating engine compartment to reduce noise
    4. deeper seating
    5. sharper front hull to cut through rough water (this might cost more )

mxvet got a reaction from Guppydriver in So how come no Indmar 460?
460 wasn't adopted soon enough by consumers so MB nixed it. Said it required larger exhaust and different surf pipe diameter etc.
I also feel the 460 would have been great. Its the go to motor in tige and supra at 5000'..
Hey MB, can you give us the 460, 17" prop, 2:1 tranny, and sharper bottom v nose please? Now we talkin

mxvet got a reaction from oboyskibum in Is Ceramic Coating Worth It?
On my 4th MB since 2009, I've never had an issue with my boat NOT looking good after multiple years. I have always done a good wipe down with tiny bit of vinegar, soap and water. Then an occasional babes boat wax spray down. This past season though I started using Flowgenix - spray on wipe off. The boat shines better than new water beads off, in fact I use it on my cars, trucks and motorcycles. Glass trim etc.... The shine is amazing, but it does not last very long depending on weather/water conditions.  Good thing the product goes a long way.
I can't see spending thousands on a pro application when I already take good care of stuff.

Having a 575 in my 2019, I contacted indmar about octane ratings, booster etc. The response was to run whatever is considered premium for your region.

I have to ask how the ceramic application is holding up? What is your water spot situation like after taking off the water?

Lol. He a regular guy on here that doesn’t like his voice so he used the auto whatever voice module.

As for your trips, it’s funny that when we go on our week long vacation at Lake Shasta, we carry less on the boat than our local day trips. Since the boat is in a slip and we are staying right next to the lake we only take out what we are planning to use on that run. On day trips that we drive to the lake we don’t want to forget anything and we load for bear.

I don’t think 8” inside the boat is a deal breaker unless you are trying to fit one more really skinny friend. The bow step off isn’t that much smaller to step on with the new Alpha. My only concern would be the bow storage difference. We keep our anchor, rope, buoy, throwable cushion and extra orange vests to keep popo happy if we have a large crew, stored in the bow.

Everybody uses their boats in different ways. Your problem right now is overthinking things and second guessing yourself.  Go with your gut and then stop looking at other boats. You can make anything work or you could go ahead and say budget be damned I’m getting a G25.  You won’t be disappointed with the 22 or 23 alpha. Just pick and commit!

If looking at buying a new prop, the 3407 (15.5") was better, but not enough to buy it when I had the 2247 already. Lower rpm, tad better holeshot, and slightly less GPH..  You have to watch for gel burn although I never saw any hint of burn in the 8-10 engine hours I had it on. Top Speed reduced by 5PMH
