  1. While searching for a boat cover I have decided that I want an Evolution boat cover by Cory Anderson. I spoke with Cory today and he told me that unfortunately he doesn't have a pattern for 2002 MB's. However, he suggested that I send out a query on the MB Sports web site to see if there is a 2002 MB owner in the area of Seattle/Everett. Cory said that he would send out email's to local storage facilities in an attempt to locate a 2002 MB also. If there is a 2002 MB owner in the area he would try and get a pattern from that particular boat. If you have a 2002 MB Sports boat and live in the Seattle/Everett or know of someone that does please contact me. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  4. Below is from another forum: Hey guys, I was a passenger in this boat during the accident. Yes, there are many cardinal rules broken. The most important one I feel is no life jackets worn. As crazy as it seems, we had jackets for each person but as the poker run began we realized no one else was wearing them..... How foolish we were. I have read so many nasty comments on YouTube and other sites I am in shock. My wife suffered 4 broken ribs, punctured lung and a broken foot. She has not left the house since getting home. She is in severe pain. The driver crushed his eye orbital and broke hus back at T8 ( he is a former F-2 racer with APBA). Another passenger who raced professionally for many years broke his pelvis in several places and is in a wheelchair. One of the other girls crushed her eye orbital also. The guy from lake tv fractured his hip and broke his wrist. My injuries were minor compared, busted my head open and damaged a rib or two. Everyone is black and blue. This was a very upsetting event for everyone involved. I have been around powerboats for many years and it only takes on unguarded minute to loose a life or permanently hurt people you love. I am very thankful this did not end up worse. I hope everyone learns from this. I know I will boat differently. All of the guys in the boat are members of OSO. I think it is necessary to break down the accident and discuss this, just remember these are real people who like you who love power boating and do it every weekend __________________
  5. http://fox2now.com/2012/09/04/raw-video-inside-the-ozark-boat-crash/ LAKE OF THE OZARKS, MO (YOUTUBE) – Seven boaters were injured in this video from the Lake of the Ozarks. The boat hit a large wake at the 22 mile marker. The Missouri Water Patrol has stated that the driver and six passengers were hurt by the boat slamming from side to side. Five passengers were taken to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries.
  6. Hey SkySki no problem, really. I appreciate your input. I was thinking about doing just what you suggested and I couldn't agree with you more. One would think, MB Sports would have used marine lumber plastic building material sometimes called Starbord which is high-density polyethylene. It is stabilized to resist saltwater, chemicals, and sunlight. It will not rot or delaminate and is easy to work with. Thanks
  7. SkySki, thanks for your input. However, when left outside the lid and the boat in general has been protected from the elements, e.g., rain and in doing so no moisture, wetness or mildew has ever been evident. I have tried and so have others attempted to force the warped area back which was to no avail. If the material the lid was made out of i.e., wood, was soft it would have either have cracked or bent. Thanks again.
  8. I have a 2002 220 direct drive in pristine condition. The left side of the storage lid is warping and the storage pockets assembly inside is separating from the outside corners. Last week I left the door open for a couple of days in order to dry out the storage area. Upon closing the storage door the left side was raised about 7". I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I lowered the lid and placed a carpet on the upholstery and a 45 lb weightlifing plate on top and an additional 10 lb tool box for two days. Upon removing the weight the lid was still raised about 3". Has anyone experienced this problem? It really looks like poor materials used. At this time I haven't disassembled the lid so I don't know if wood was used or another material to assemble the lid or not. See attached photos. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
  9. I purchased a MB 2002 220 direct drive 2 summers ago. The only aggravation I currently have is getting the boat to the waiting trailer with out any issues. Some boaters say idle up to the trailer or shift in and out of drive to the trailer. This direct drive boat in some respect is like my jet drive, no power means no steering and forget about reverse. My question for you folks is what procedure/tips do you have when preparing to drive your boat to your waiting trailer. Do you maintain a certain speed to the trailer or idle up, walk it to the trailer? There is no issue about the depth of the trailer or alignment whatsoever. Frustration is really settin' in. All comments are appreciated. Thanks
  10. I have a 2002 MB DD, 22". Is anyone having or had a problem with water entering the storage trunk from the perimeter of the lid area? The area where the lid is secured with hinges is flat and water enters from that location. Also, the other area of concern is where the storage trunk rests is in a "U" shape with a valley (like around the trunk of your car to direct the water out). However, this valley for my boat obviously fills up with water and over flows into the trunk area saturating the carpeting. It is obvious, the water that enters the storage trunk is from wet bathing suits, wakeboards and skis coming in etc. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks EKUFootball
  11. I currently own a 2002 DD. Has anyone had any problems with their transom storage trunk lid warping? Does anyone know what type of material is used for the lid, ie. marine grade plywood, fiberglas etc.? I noticed mine starting to warp on a corner leaving about a 3/4" gap. Just might have to contact the manufacturer and have another one made otherwise. Thanks
  12. Hey Moon if it isn't too much trouble could you photograph your process for us who may have to do the same at some point in time? I would really appreciate it. Good Luck EKU Football
  13. The required amount(5 qts.)includes the oil filter. Several attempts were made to get some kind of oil reading which was to no avail. The dipstick itself was examined carefully to see if there was any oil on the dipstick itself several times. Due to the configuration of the exhaust manifold itself which blocks the dipsticks normal location the dipstick had to be routed toward the starboard side of the engine. In doing so, the dipstick tube looks like a backward letter "S". I think the dipstick is too short. The engine has new oil and the oil pressure is good. Any input would be appreciated.
