24 tomcat vs 25 lsv

Need some help, I currently own a 17 24' tomcat. I've been offered a 2018 25' lsv fully loaded. I'm either upgrading to an 18 tomcat or taking this guy up on his deal for the 25 lsv. Input is appreciated. Dealer price on the lsv....

Will depend on the money. 25 LSV is "worth" a lot more.

In this part of the country, thats not even a dilemma.  The Bu just enjoys a much higher status.

With regard to the practical nature of the boats, you can't go wrong.  They're both solid.

Seem like a weird scenario you really cannot turn down.  Would like to know your secrets for getting cost Bu boats?

So in your other post you said you paid $96k for a '17 F24 (which depending on location is a bit high) or you can get 40% off of an LSV.... I don't get it. If you are going to buy a new boat every year I would go with 60% vs 100% of MSRP. Not sure of the question here.

Performance is the question. What boat will perform better. Only have had a tomcat.

Ok then to be honest I would go with the 25LSV. (That is really hard for me to type)  If you are looking for a great boat that you are only going to have while under warranty and trade/sell every couple of years its a no brainer.  They are both going to put up an awesome wave.  The bigger the boat the more ballast you are going to need for sure, so take that into consideration.  The BU will have stronger resale so if purchase price is close it's the LSV all day.  If there is a $40k difference then it's a whole different story.  The MB is a better long term boat without all of the electronic convenience toys that will fail once the warranty ends on the Malibu.

If it is purely on performance and money is NO object neither of them would be my first choice...

At 120k that's an easy choice. I'd demo a G25, Ri257, and Supra SE to compare to the Malibu. Assuming you have all those dealers. And see how many % off msrp they'll come. I would think you could run the Malibu for a year possibly 2 and break even.

Getting a G25 and Ri257 at 120k will be a challenge. SE would be doable.

I have ridden behind a few Malibu's and everyone I have been behind iwas very nice.  The wave at speed, wake boarding, was a bit more gentle, rampy, then many other boats I have been behind.  That being said, the wave was great just different than most other waves I have ridden.  I surfed an MXZ , think it was a 15 or 16, and the wave stock with 8 people in the boat was crap.  Fun to switch side to side but the wave was still crap.  Didn't have a chance to ride it after he sacked it out.  I will say malibu's are one of the best looking boats as they sit in the water.....

This all is correct. The 24 sucked, and this year they've redesigned that whole boat to fix it. Apparently now it's great. The 25 will throw a great wave for 95% of surfing folks.

The boats are solid and very pretty.

This scenario is a 100% no brainer if you come out OK on your Tomcat.

I would just demo them for a little due diligence before buying a 200k boat, and for fun! I mean if you're dropping that kind of cash no reason to not shop a little, and see realistically how much off MSRP dealers are going. But the 40% off will more than likely make your choice. Of coarse you'll have to like it $30-35k more than the MB too.
