SteeleWake
Popped back in as just heard about this...you guys really doing same weekend and location as Girls Ride the Wake always is? Lots of girls hoping to focus on riding and getting coaching, hard enough with 8 to 10 Gs in area but doubling that with MBs too seems nuts. Guessing was just a mistake on dates? Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk I saw that too after we had made reservations. It actually works great for us coming from out of the area. We can drop the ladies off with you guys while we go off to the meetup. We will have at least 4 from our own crew coming with you guys. They loved GRTW last year. It definitely wasn't planned that way as far as I know. There are only so many weekends in June before you crash into the 4th. The intent was to move to a more central location than Shasta to get more southern guys to our meet up. We had a mini meetup at Tower Park last year to plan this. The planning was based around camp ground and facility availability not room on the delta. I think we can coexist fine. This is a respectful group... well except for a couple of people who will not be named. lol

Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk I just got back into town from the Salt Lake Boat show and saw this. Sorry about this Matt. This was not intentional. This is when we usual do it at Shasta. But Shasta did not come thru for us with a good deal. Like John stated we did a mini-meetup last year and made the decision to go to Tower Park. It gives people more ways to stay. They can Tent, cabin or Rv. Also it is more centralized so we should have a bigger group. I would expect 20-25 boats and approx 125 to 140 people I will let everyone know to go towards B and W then go North. Or just go South from Tower. Then that keeps everyone out of Westgate landing side . Hope this will help.
SteeleWake
Too many potential logistic problems at ramp and in sloughs, coordinator is looking if all sponsor boats and coaches can do other dates this year. If not, she is thinking to do much smaller event elsewhere or cancel grtw for first time in 11 years. Bummer for all the ladies. My daughter loved GRTW last year and we were going to bring others with us this year. We totally understand logistics. I really hope you guys can pull it off. Please don't think that we doomed you. We can easily have our boats go the other way like Don said. We can't change the date as way too many reservations have been made already. That is why we started planning so early. SteeleWake
Yes, tons of delta to go around but concentrating that many big boats in one part of it is asking for trouble and we can't jeopardize the safety or positive experience of the ladies who pay to have their event. You guys are going to find trying to safely pull and prep even 10 boats (let alone 20-25) on a single lane and pretty sketchy boat ramp on Sunday around all the other normal traffic is quite the chore also. Speaking only for myself and not the event or sponsors...may not have been the intention of most of you, but throwing that many boats and people when and where GRTW always is without even an advanced heads up has likely killed the event for the ladies and that's a pretty crappy thing for MB to do. Side note - sort of assume most of you know me personally or we've met through me helping you with gear demos or other events so you know where my heart's at. For those who don't, please forgive me jumping on your forum and venting a bit of shock and frustration. Pretty passionate about GRTW (awesome ladies event in its 11th year), plus happened to be with event coordinator when she found out and saw first hand the disappointment and emotion as she's tying to fix this. SheDago
The Grtw dates were just confirmed In the last 2 weeks, I helped plan this meetups dates and location this year and I guarantee you Grtw was never thought of (my wife even helps out with grtw) , it’s a simple coincidence. Like Jeff said there is 1100 miles of waterways it’s really not a big deal. Honestly grtw may benefit from our event! I Hope grtw can figure a solution, we have a very respectful group on here and I know the grtw crew is good people so this shouldn’t be as big of a deal as your making it! Hope to see you guys out there Hyperryd, breakz77 and adam4x4
Mbski
We never would want to impact GRTW. I know Jeff O and Hyperryd girls go to to your event. I would think that this would help out your event. Us MB owners promote our sport. We dont want you to cancel your event. I can tell you this. If it isnt the MB group at towerpark. It will be some other boats. The campsites and boat docks are pretty much sold out. Jellystone park sells out at least 6months before the date. So I would say us being there repecting and staying away from your event is a plus. I Am the one that got everyone to go to towerpark for our mini meetup to decided if we wanted to hold our yearly MB meetup there. Its perfect for us. All that we do for our passion of owning boats and wakeboarding and surfing are the same as you STEELEWAKE. We raise good money for Wake The World at our event. It is very unfair for you too say that the logistics just wont work and you will have to cancel the event for safety reasons. I can assure you that all the MB owners i know that will be at the meetup are very safe Boaters. And Respect the water ways and other people. Very class act group thats forsure. I think you need to keep your event going. After 11 years of holding it. And cancelling it because of our meetup is not a good excuse in my eyes. Whatever we can do to help this out let us know. I know too many girls and families that enjoy your event. And on the other side, lots of people looking forward to our MB Meetup. Hyperryd
Tower Park has invested heavily in their facility the last couple of years. That investment is drawing in a lot of people that didn’t used to go there. That investment in the facility is the reason it fits our needs this year. The reality is this, if we weren’t there you would have 15 other boats there that didn’t offer to go the other way. Blaming us for anything that has to do with your event is being pretty crappy as you say. We have to have our event in June to make our donation to Wake the World in July. That donation helps a lot of underprivileged kids experience water sports for the first time. We don’t want to disappoint all of those kids. I love what you guys are doing. We can coexist. Let us know the routes you guys normally use and we will work with you. Or do another weekend and deal with the other boats that couldn’t care less about your event. We do care. Jake (((O)))
Here is a platform to communicate and work together, I mean if I could talk to all 11 boat owners in one place and let them know where I plan on being and hoping they could go the other way that would be a pretty simple solution. Especially when everyone is on the same page and respectful. Hell I bet they could run some interference and keep the tube towing malibu's out of your way. SteeleWake
All good, like I said I believe most had the best of intentions here just would have been awesome to hear about it a lot earlier so could steer our sponsors away from picking our usual dates. I think you'd all understand more if you knew more about what it takes to make grtw what it is, and I know you'll have more appreciation when you all try to pull out on Sunday and thankfully won't have us there on top of the madness. Also great gestures as know many could trust to ride other way, just don't think you can commit for all 20-25 boats especially once folks realize the best ride spots for depth and wind direction are exactly where you say you won't go. As they say, to the victor go the spoils so have a great event! Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk
Jake (((O)))
Gee whiz we do 50+ boats at the exact same time to WTW and never have a problem on a small ramp. I see 11 confirmed boats taking spots that would be reserved by other boaters anyway during peak season. But I'll move on from this rant. Lol! The Donfather
I just got off the phone with the organizer of Girls Ride the Wake. GRTW Please please please everyone on here just stop the drama and stop the post In the past I have been a part of that event with my family and my daughter. It is a great event and the girls have an awesome time. Yes it will be difficult to hold two big events like this at the same weekend. We are working on solving some issues that might occur. As details come available I will make post So at this point in time we do not need to make the situation any wose with people bad talking each other either direction. Thanks for sticking to my wishes and stop the bashing. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk bloodiestcadaver, JeffO and breakz77
