TR711 0
Does anyone have any experience with the Tower Down Cover? Our new B53 Alpha will have a white tower and speakers so pondering this to keep cleaner when towing.
Guppydriver 50
Just make sure you don't sacrifice your gel coat for that cleaner tower. My buddy just chafed his gelcoat up pretty good and put a hole in his transom pad towing his boat in high wind with the cover. Make sure you use saran wrap for those high speed long distance tows. The Donfather 4,351
I had an 18 B52 23. I towed tower down 16 hours from Calif. to Lake Powell and then back. No issues at all. Just make sure it is super tight. I also put small towels between where tower folds and cover touches. There is a sharp corner and I was worried. TR711
oboyskibum 212
I don't have a tower down cover but I always use blue tape around the edges of my cover. As done said make sure it is tight. Saran wrap is a good option where you need more coverage. Also watch your seat fabric the cover wore a friend of mine smooth a couple areas (removed the texture, so he uses blue tape on the seats in areas of contact.) bloodiestcadaver 332
to my knowledge there is not a tower down available yet for the alphas. I have a tower down for my classic but it doesn't fit. Im thinking because I have the larger PTM racks. my last boat got chaffed pretty good on the windshield frame. I would wrap that area for sure. It's available on the builder.....maybe it's something they are working on..
schill38 13
I towed 3 times with my cover on , the first 2 I had no problems, the 3rd trip I did get some gel coat rubbing, my only guess is for some reason I didn't get the cover tight enough...from this point on I am just planning on towing with the cover off. Guppydriver 50
Here's a picture of the back of my friends boat cover. It totally shredded in the wind on the way back from Lake Powell and poked some holes in his transom sun cushion. Crazy
turps73 80
protection is the best thing. i had my cover lined with soft lining for the windshield and seat areas when i had the step cover added to it. worked great every year to powell and back bloodiestcadaver
