The time has come... We made the choice to keep Tiffany and buy a lake house... This means that I get to re-do my entire sound system!!! Here is what I have and what I want to do... · Current: o 2 Exile SX80M in the bow (150 RMS, 300 PEEK) o 4 Exile SX65-M in the rear (100 RMS, 200 PEEK) o 1 XI 12 DVC Sub (600RMS, 1200 PEEK) o 4 JL 7.7 Tower Cans (150 RMS, 225 PEEK) o 1 Exile Javelin Amp ( 5 channel) o 1 JL M400/4 ( 75 RMS @ 4 OHM, 100 RMS @ 2 OHM with 14.4 V and 60 RMS @ 4 OHM, 90 ROMS @ 2 OHM with 12.5V I want to add: 2 Exile SX65-M (one under cockpit and one under observers seat) Fiberglass reinforce current box and do a larger sub. New batteries and rewire EVERYTHING to the batteries (factory media is wired to dash) My main concern/questions are: What amps should I go with to maximize my options. I know the configuration will have to be a little odd since I'm running 3 sets of 6.5's and 1 set of 8's. The audio guy I talked to felt that the tower was not getting enough power (yet you can easily hear it 500 plus feet away)... I know because my wife yells at me when she is getting the truck. I want to have a very clean and loud (especially bass) sound with my boat. My goal is to do this once and be happy, that is why I am asking for advice... And no pissing matches over brands

So I've installed the Exile XM20.1 2000 W 1ch to run my new under helm setup. I think I have to scratch the idea of 2 JL 12" W6 in a ported box due to size constraints. My question is this: The amp is rated with 2 ohm 1600w x1 and 1 ohm 2000 x1. I am having a hard time finding a 1 or a 2 ohm sub... I wanted to go with a JL w7 if I can only fit one under the helm, but that is a SVC 3 ohm. It it possible to use my amp with the sub? Safely?

I purchased all my amps and am starting to re-think my under helm sub setup I plan to do. I purchased the XM20.1 in hopes of getting the new big 12 when it goes back into production, but I am not re-thinking the idea. My question would be this: with that amp, is it possible to correctly run 2 subs? I'm thinking if I don't go with the big 12, that I may want to do 2 L7's or something like that under the helm.
