  1. dubguy85, do you have any video with your boat and system. How are you weighting your boat?
  2. This may be a stupid question, but have you tried installing it yourself? If so, what problems are you having? I installed the paddle version several years ago.
  3. If you decide not to buy bigger tubing (which I didn't do for my 03) you will need to buy 4 3/4" threaded connectors with a reducer on the barb side, but that also depends on the size of tubing your boat has.
  4. I replaced my 03 ssc pumps last year with the johnsons and didn't replace the wires.
  5. Check out www.skidim.com. They usually carry pcm parts.
  6. I'm interested in seeing the pictures of the diy surf gate.
  7. Maybe it depends on the year of your boat, but on my 03 I went through the access panel under the rear seat (no need to remove the floor) to get to the paddle wheel. My paddle wheel was located between the fuel tank and transmission.
  8. There is no way it should take 7 hours to replace the paddle wheel. I think all you need to do is remove the old one, clean the hole really good, drop the new paddle wheel in using the recommended sealant, and re-wire. I don't have perfect pass (mine is ride steady) and it didn't take me 7 hours to install the whole system in my boat without any help.
  9. I did take my mb up through the thoroughfare without any problems. Luckily for us we were with some other friends who were able to guide us along the way in their I/O.
  10. I've always wondered about Lake Pend Oreille? Willy priest lake is awesome. Not sure if you've been there before, but upper priest is beautiful. Just a little sketchy getting there.
  11. I am a Teacher and h.s. football coach. Summers are great in eastern WA, but it's kind of short for me since h.s. football begins mid August.
  12. Love Crescent Bar. Heading there with the family at the beginning of August. Glad they got the dam fixed.
  13. There may be a zerk fitting for your rudder that you should grease. On my 03 it is in the engine compartment in the vicinity of the sky pylon.
  14. See if you can open these. PCM Owners Manual.pdf PCM Parts Manual.pdf
  15. If you don't find what you need pm your email and I'll send you a 2003 PCM owners manual and PCM Parts manual.
  16. I doubt your system has check valves (at least my 03 doesn't) as most of the older boats fill and empty through the same thru-hull below the boat. Also, my pumps have turned as long as I have owned the boat, but have never filled the ballast. I have finally decided to replace the pumps with Johnson Ultra ballast pumps as I am tired of manually filling the tanks through the manual hand drains.
  17. Just out of curiosity, but have you greased the rudder? There should be a zerk fitting in the engine bay next to the ski pylon.
  18. Been a long time member of this board, but don't post to much. I know there aren't many on here with older models, but I'm just wondering if anybody has experience surfing the 220V? If so, what is the best ballast configuration to set it up with? Right now, 800lbs of ballast on both sides. Thanks, Moon

  20. Not really. It is really deep when heading through the canyon/ channel thingy. After that, the river bends to the right and you will see a large cove on the right. It does get some activity but if you keep going and when the river starts bending to the left, that is where the good water usually is. Also there is a decent beach with shallow water for the kiddies to play in. We don't beach our boat and use a beach buddy so you have to walk in a bit with all your gear, but not many people go there so it is peaceful and private. If you have any other questions let me know.
  21. We have an 03 mb so probably less noticeable (and saw a red one out that day as well). When we ride on the snake you've got go up past fishhook to find the best water. It's always a zoo from ice harbor dam to fishhook campground. It's amazing how choppy it can get from all the tubing going on, but if you are patient and don't mind the drive up river through the canyon, flat water can be found.
  22. We are usually on the Columbia river (in tri cities) or snake river (ice harbor dam) like today. The Columbia was way to busy today because of the water follies (hydro races).
  23. I have an 03 220V and instead removing the seat, you should be able to take out all the screws in the floor like the above posts said and just slide it back under the rear bench and have plenty of room to replace your bilge pump. I think one difference between 03's and 05's is the driver seat. It looks like the seat on the 05 is a post pedestal and on the 03's it is a big base.
  24. Yep, definitely how the water is getting in the ballast tanks. If your ballast pumps ever fail and you still want to fill the tanks just remove the plugs and you can flood the tanks. Once you stop seeing bubbles behind the boat it means the tanks are full. Also, to empty the tanks if your pumps are not working, remove the plugs, get the boat on plane for a good while and the tanks will empty through the drain holes (just remember to get back to the transom quickly with plugs in hand and screw them back in so you don't flood the tanks again). You'll still have some water in the tanks, but not nearly 1600lbs. This is what we do since I'm to lazy and a bit cheap to replace my failed ballast pumps. It is hard to tell when the ballast is empty, but your boat will turn easier and it won't seem like there is such a load.
