  1. on my 14 i hated the clarion deck, i went with a fusion, as i wanted to be able to control all three zones, or i thought i would, i just installed in the pick, there is covers over the screws on the end i just made my own plate, moved and added some switches, works perfect
  2. last year i bought a 14 f24 same motor mount changed mine i didnt have any luck with indmar but they are not that expensive, i also pulled my drive shaft to check if there were any cracks and sure enough it was starting to get a crack in it, so i changed it out to who knows it could have lasted but i didnt want to be stranded make sure you re align your motor after the new mounts
  3. i often thought about it, i worked with some race boats years ago, you could shave with there props, i cant see how it could not improve the prop,
  4. i have a 24 so not the same, but it handles rough chop very well, much better than expected
  5. if it was the fuel pump you would still have spark?? sounds like somewhere there is a broken wire,, once it gets warm, it gets soft and no contact i dont know just a thought, i had a coil wire on a car once that was like that, once it got hot , no contact once it cooled down all good
  6. NWCastle where did you get yours, did you have to drill through the tower,
  7. Im having the same problem with my 14 trailer, the swing away is about 5'long so there is a fair bit of stress on the swivel, i see the pin has some wear but it looks more like the holes on the swing tounge are out of round you can see the wear on the top plate and the bottem, i know you can buy replacement swing, but i would like to fix the problem, can a person just get a plate welded on the top and bottem , redrill the correct hole and put a longer bolt and pin in it,
  8. i have gotten my boat out of storage, thats for all that helped answer questions over the winter, motor mounts are done, new drive shaft is in and aligned, old Gen surf system is off, waiting to put on GSA next week, new pumps are roughed in, just have to finish plumbing and wiring, then have to do some stereo work, mainly clean up all the problem wiring, if there is buget left over i would like to put a wetsounds 420bt in, boat is 2014 f24 with the 575hp. first problem is i have one that is burnt out, i checked and i do have power to it dealer dosnt have any, said they are super common
  9. for how easy it is to check i would, i have an f24 2014 with the 575 with the 54.5 shaft which was not know to have a problem, i did an alingment check and is was not out that much but i did have bad motor mounts so i changed the mounts and the shaft as it failed a dye test
  10. i like the look was debateing on leaving the insert between the tubes or to powder coat it all looks good
  11. this is the day i brought her home, got it winterized and put away, im thinking of powder coating the tower white to match the boat,
  12. did more reseach last night i have the gen2 tabs on my f24 dont know if that makes any differance it looks like when theyu are deployed they should work like the NSS system
  13. do they not give it a variance 91-93octane i thought on the indmar site
  14. i thought Ryan with GSA was running his tabs and having a great wave i have seen an older f24 rolling a great wave, but he just had a simple tab on the bottem of the hull on both sides, i thought the GSA was working better
  15. Was just looking at some pic's of the f24 and i see it has a different surf tab on the back, they look very similar to the Gen1 from 2015 i tried to search but i didnt find anything sorry if this has been discussed , i was going to add the GSA to my 2015 this winter , why the change any feed back on how its working
  16. so how did this work out i would love to adapt this to mt f24 im not scared to drill in to the hard tanks but where to get the adapters from. anyone finish this project
  17. Cecil at Elberts, recommended i stay with the 54.5 shaft, i have the longer shaft in my f24 and my mounts were quite close even with the compression, i did new mounts and have the alignment at .0015 everything is back together
  18. replaced all the motor mounts tonight, not a fun job, the transmission was a very easy, 6.2 supercharged was not so roomy at the front of the motor, an hour to do the back end, 4hr and help from a buddy to do the two at the front, just have to aline it now, i marked it so i should be close to start
  19. hi josh just wanted to ask a question, was your driveshaft issue from this summer, i just picked up a 2014 f24 i pulled the drive shaft to check and it has started to crack, i spoke with brian at MB this morning and he was also taking with Mel, He tells me he has never heard of this problem of the drive shaft cracking at the coupler, i know im well off of warranty but i thought it was odd for them to say they have never heard of the problem, sounds like Mel has been trying to help out a few people, this is not my first MB but i with my budget i never am buying brand new. Rather disappointed with MB. A small company, i could understand if they came back to me and said is just to long of a time, but to say they never heard of the driveshaft breaking. let me know when yours was taken care of. Sorry for the rant.
  20. im very excited to join the mb group, i just picked up an 2014 tomcat f24 575HP 250hr the boat is mint shape. i think it was ordered in canada with every option that year, Tri axle trailer also was updated with the MB switch surf system. Just got it last week, im in Saskatchewan Canada, so been freezing every night, this boat is not going in the water this year, i was able to squease it in to my garage for a few days, i have done my own work on my boats in the past, i changed the fluids on this motor, trans put in a new impeller and changed out fuel filter, as i did not have a record of past service. i have been surfing the MB forum, and i see alot of people with drive shaft problems, i was checking my motor mounts, they are mushroomed out, i thought the LSA motor had a different mount but looks like im wrong, so i took off the drive shaft coupler to check and i thought i could see a crack starting to form, i pulled the drive shaft out, and got the driveshaft inspected and they did a dye penetration inspection, and it has a crack started in the shaft, I see some people have been getting help with the driveshaft from MB. I was so excited to be getting this boat on the water, had some plans for some ballast upgrades, for the bow. Is there any point in contacting MB im the Third owner of the boat, should i contact the origonal dealer, i bought the boat privetly. and i know they did not know about this. Most of the shaft that were breaking were the shorter ones, i have the A.R.E 54.5 shaft any advice from anyone Up till this i have been very impressed with the whole boat and MB quality.
  21. i was hoping someone was going to have some advice for you, i am sitting with the same question, i have a f24 with the three coolers in the front, i notice that if i take out the cup holders i can reach down the side of the hull, i am wondering if a person could not make up some lead shot bags like 10lbs each and put 10 or 15 on each side i dont want to put a bag on top of my seat
  22. have a 14 f24 im following this i would like to take out my 1100s and plumb bags to my hard tanks, just so they drain quicker, but im not willing to pay through the nose, dealer seams to always want a fortune for parts
